As glorious as her professional career has been, White’s personal life has been marked by two unsuccessful marriages that ended in divorces in 1945 and 1949 respectively.

However, the legendary actress did find love later on in life, when she married the love of her life, Allen Ludden, in 1963.

After her husband’s passing, White expressed no interest in getting married again, since she had already found the best and lost it.

“Once you’ve had the best, who needs the rest?” she told Larry King during an interview.

Betty White’s talent isn’t limited to acting, but she is also a gifted writer.

Today, White is still active and makes sure not to take life or herself too seriously.

“A sense of humor [keeps me going],” she explains. “Don’t take yourself too seriously. You can lie to others — not that I would — but you cannot lie to yourself.”
